Create View Step three: Assign Access to View

No one is able to see your view until you give them access.

To give someone access to your view.

Select the Add link (green)

 

Select Search

 

Enter their name and the search button

 

Select Add next to the person you want to access your view. The types of users you can select are

  • Public - anyone with internet access
  • Logged in Users - anyone who has registered
  • Friends - people who you have added as friends

New  You can also give someone who is not a Mahara user access to your view by selecting Add – Secret URL and emailing this URL to the person.

New Allow copying – select this if you want people who have access to your view the ability to copy your view.

 

Limiting date and time of view access

Sometimes you may only want to give access to your view for a certain perio.

Go to the bottom of the view screen and select Overriding Start/Stop Dates

Submitting a View

If you are preparing a View as part of an assessed task and you have been added as a member of a Controlled Group, you will be able to submit your View for assessment.

Go to My Views, choose a View and choose Submit this View to the relevant Group in the drop down box.

 

This will lock the View title, layout and uploaded Artefacts. Note that it will not lock contact details and Blog posts. Your View can them be marked by a tutor and released back to you with any comments.
