For the release of Mahara 22.10, the October 2022 release, a number of features were identified to support the growth of Mahara. This list may be added to throughout the release cycle, and it will be updated once Mahara 22.10 has been released.

Usability improvements
to simplify the user interface, keep up with the changing world of how people interact with web applications and thus expect from Mahara.

- Add separate alt text and caption for images
- Combine 'Pages and collections' to 'Portfolios' around the site; pages and collections still exist but when both are meant, they are referred to as 'Portfolios'
- More clarity around being able to sign off a page

to offer tools to learners that they need to create the portfolios they want or are required to set up.

- Report over SmartEvidence statuses
- 'Quick edit' option on 'Files', 'PDF', and 'Course completion' blocks for faster editing
- Export accounts via CLI
- Move accounts from one institution to another via CSV
Technical updates
to make use of new libraries that are used and keep current with technology that is included. That also supports the usability of the site.
